Dr. Kathy Higgins-Katoa was born in Honolulu and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. After graduating from Hawaii Preparatory Academy in 1987, she attended the University of Puget Sound in Washington State and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biology. In 1995, she obtained her degree of Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University, School of Chiropractic in Atlanta, Ga.
Upon her return to the Hawaiian Islands in 1995, Dr. Higgins-Katoa began her chiropractic practice. Since then her practice has continued to grow, serving hundreds of families on the island of Oahu today. Dr. Higgins-Katoa has most of her attention focused on the care of multigenerational families; her specialty is in the care of expectant women and pediatrics. Dr. Higgins-Katoa is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, the International Chiropractic Association. The Waiting List Practice, the most successful chiropractic training organization in the world today, awarded Dr. Higgins-Katoa elite Platinum status.
Dr. Higgins-Katoa has done presentations to local businesses, schools, and retirement living communities such as the Sunset Christian Academy, Pearl City High, Moanalua Intermediate, Office Max, Kokua Nurses, Hawaii-Kai assisted living community, Hawaii Gerontology, Baby Hui, Nuuanu YMCA, Gold’s Gym, Spa Fitness Center, Heart Walk, Relay for Life and the Bank of Hawaii.
Dr. Higgins-Katoa continues to educate the public about health, wellness and living a drug-free life through Radio and TV news spots aired on; KRTR 95.5 FM, KHON 2 and the Trinity Broadcast Network.
Through extensive training and motherhood experience, Dr. Higgins-Katoa has educated women on the benefits of a natural and safe pregnancy, labor and delivery. Dr. Higgins-Katoa is a skilled clinician in the Webster breech turning technique in which she successfully helped many women turn their unborn children to avoid caesarian births.

Dr. Higgins-Katoa signed as the first American woman Chiropractor Franchisee with Chiropractic USA. Several of her notable patients have been; Chris Maumalanga of the NFL Cleveland Browns, Danny Katoa formerly with the University of Hawaii, Rochester Brigade and Hawaii Arena Football League, Veronica Lima of the University of Hawaii Volleyball team and lastly, famous classic rock singer/musician Jackson Browne.
